How Contrast Therapy Works
Train your nervous system to shift smoothly from stress to calm through hot and cold cycling.

Heat Up
Spend 15-30 minutes in 140-170°F infrared heat to activate your sympathetic nervous system, increasing heart rate and blood flow.



Cool Down
Take 1-3 minutes in a cold plunge chilled to 40-52F. This kickstarts your parasympathetic system, known for "rest and digest."



Repeat at your own pace
By cycling back and forth between hot and cold, you train your mind, body, and nervous system to transition smoothly between stress and rest.

Kontra studios have private rooms for 1-2 individuals for focused recovery, and social rooms for 4-6 people for a more communal experience. Pick one when you visit.
Warm up in the sauna
Spend 15-30 minutes in an infrared sauna, heated from 140-170F. Aromatherapy and optional guided breathworks and playlists accompany your experience.
Take the plunge
Take 1-3 minutes in a cold plunge.
Rest & repeat
Feel free to repeat cycles, or stop at one.

We’ve researched the science so you don’t have to. Kontra is your favorite new habit and an essential part of your weekly recovery routine.
Kontra minutes are an easy way to keep track of your weekly time in the sauna and plunge. Work your way up and gradually expose your body to a wider range of temperatures over time.
We recommend getting multiple Kontra sessions/week based on yur level of expertise:
